Netezza
Corp. of Framingham has announced that Orange UK, the United
Kingdom’s most popular mobile phone service, has chosen the Netezza Performance Server appliance, a
purpose-built, terascale data appliance enabling faster, more
sophisticated data analysis.
The size of the deal was not
released.
With more than 13 million active customers, Orange
UK, a member company of the Orange Group, holds a market leadership
position in mobile communications in the United Kingdom. The Orange
Group is one of the world’s largest mobile communications companies,
with operations in 18 countries across Europe and
beyond.
“Orange's technology review was extremely
comprehensive,” said Jit Saxena, co-founder and CEO of Netezza Corp, in a statement. “The need for
thorough information on the success of customer programs is becoming
increasingly important within the telecom industry, and companies
like Orange can leverage the NPS system to ensure that data can be
turned into actionable information.”
According to Netezza, the NPS appliance delivers 10 to 20
times the performance of large, complex and constantly growing
business intelligence efforts at half the cost of existing
systems.
